Bio:
I am a Rural Generalist Family Physician who has lived in the community of Marathon, in the unceded territory of the Ojibway people of Biigtigong First Nation, for 26 years. I am passionate about equitable health care delivery and small health care settings, and have lived almost all my life in places too small for traffic lights! I am a past president of the OCFP, and currently am Associate Dean of Physician Workforce Strategy for NOSM U with the goal of transforming physician workforce in service to improving equitable access to care for Northern Ontario’s citizens. I am the mother of two adult sons, partner to Eli (also a family physician) and have committed energy to local environmental protection initiatives (groundwater protection, harbour remediation, and the impact of community benefits agreement with local mining initiatives.)
