Bio:
Gary Bloch is a family physician with St. Michael’s Hospital and Inner City Health Associates, and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. His clinical, program development, education, research and advocacy interests focus on the intersection between social risks to health and front line primary care practice. He has developed or co-developed numerous innovative social intervention tools and programs, many implemented in the St. Michael’s Hospital Academic Family Health Team where he serves as co-Chair of its Social Determinants of Health Committee. He develops curriculum and teaches all levels of health trainees and practicing health providers. He is engaged in social policy-focused advocacy with non-governmental organizations and governmental committees. He is a frequent media commentator on the social determinants of health.
