Bio:
Dr. Mruna Shah is a family doctor with the West Durham Family Health Team and the Director of the Global Health, Diversity and Health Equity Program at the Scarborough Health Network.
She is the founder of the ROAD to Equity: Scarborough Health Network’s Health Equity Certificate Program. This program is for health care professionals and advocates in Scarborough. The goal of this program is to build capacity around addressing the social determinants of health and improving health equity in Scarborough and also, to create meaningful change through equity focused quality improvement projects.
She is an associate professor with the University of Toronto and teaches at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. In the past, she has served on the Faculty Development Committee at the University of Toronto and the Collaborative Mental Health Network Committee at the Ontario College of Family Physicians. Academic interests include faculty development, medical education, reflective practice and health equity.
